Media jobs

Prop masters look after all of the props that the department owns. They have to look after the props and make shore that they are in a good condition. They make shore that there are on set in time for the filming and make shore that it’s in the right time period. They look after the whole prop department. They break down the script to see what props that they need for the film. They also look to see what needs to made, hired or bought in. they will work with the whole department to make the props and help mange the beget with the props. This is to make shore that they are made on time and on set with no problems with them. They also help with the transporting them to the set and to return them as well to the right location. You can’t apply for this job because it is a job that needs experience in the prop deferment. The experience that you need is be working in the different department like prop dresser, store man or assistant prop master or working in several films all ready. They also look for a background in art in design. They look for people that work well with other people, have good leadership skills, motivational skills. They should work well under stress and be good with long hours. Have good computer skills and be aware of budget. They need a full drivers license and know that the job will be physical demanding and have a good aware of health and safety for there role.  

Sound engineer is the one who looks after the sound on set or with live shows. The sound engineer tweaks the sound levels like in a live performance to tern down the levels so the other things can be heard. They sort the sound equipment out and make shore it is working. They look after the sound mixer with assistants that help then out. The assistant are made up with sound operators, sound cable workers, microphone operators and maintenance design sound engineer. The skills that you need for being a sound engineer is having good hearing and good eye sight and not colour blind and also a long attention span. They will need a good background in electronics engineering and computer skills. They need to have good mathematics skills like in trigonometry. A good way to stat is with doing volunteer work in churches or music gigs.
Special effect artist have to create different environment with CG or make pyrotechnics explosions or doing physical effect. They need to specialise in the three main cartages are visual, pyrotechnics and physical. A visual artist has to use the computer with the CG to create background or charters that are to complex or will be too expensive to build with the budget. The physical effect artist has to create physical effect on the set like flipping over cars or making rigs to create sand stomas. The pyrotechnics artist has to create the explosions or fire balls. Some of the responsibilities that you need to have is on set doing the big stuns you need to make shore that the actors and the crew is safe and know the right health and safety requirements. You also need to have the rigs on time for the set or the mode for the film. Some of the skills to have is to be a good listener so you know what the director wants. You need to be able to turn words into a picture. For the visual artist they need to have good computer skills and to be able to work under presser and on deadlines. For the pyrotechnics you need to work for a long time with a 3 card system that works with the fist card lets you work with more experienced artist and the when they know you know the right safety techniques you will move to the 2nd card and then to the last one very quickly and you can then do it yourself. One of the best ways to get into this job is to look at firework displays and see if you can get work with them. For the physical artist you need to be good with electronics, mechanical items and robotic. Also it’s good to have basic computer programming skill, health and safety awareness, creative skills, good presentation skills and a good mine to visualise haw things are going to turn out on the screen.
